After we started seeking out waterfalls as part of our road trips we stumbled across an amazing find. Well, to be fair Ri found it. And it is called Thompson Falls.

Thompson Falls is located about 45 minutes south of Huntsville, Alabama. The falls are about 10 or 15 minutes from the Tennesse river (see map below). We learned that they’re located on private property and the owner of the property often shares his right to shoot trespassers. Interestingly enough we ran into the property owner on our visit, and he didn’t say a word. We parked as close as we could and followed the sound. What we found was an amazing water fall and rock formations. We visited in December, but I imagine they’re absolutely stunning during the fall and changing of the leaves.
